ADC Chairman murdered

By Mark Johnson.

The Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State, Chisimdiri Emmanuel Ngwu, has died in circumstances suspected to be linked to murder.

Ngwu, a long-standing member of the ADC in the state, was reportedly found dead in the early hours of Wednesday, August 19, 2026, after leaving his residence earlier that morning.

According to information from a family source, Ngwu woke up early and went outside the family compound.

He reportedly did not return, prompting his relatives to begin searching for him.

His body was later discovered outside the compound, leaving members of his family shocked and confused over what could have happened to him.

The condition in which the body was found has raised further concerns about the cause of his death.

The family reportedly noticed injuries around his neck, with indications that he may have been attacked before his death.

News of the incident has caused sadness and tension among residents, political associates and members of the ADC in Udenu and other parts of Enugu State.

Ngwu was regarded as one of the long-serving members of the ADC in the state and had remained active in the party’s activities.

His death has therefore caused concern within the political group, particularly because of the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The matter has also attracted the attention of security authorities, with two people reportedly arrested in connection with the suspected killing.

The identities of the arrested persons have not been made public.

It was also unclear at the time of reporting what role they were suspected of playing in the incident or whether investigators had established a clear motive for the alleged attack.

The circumstances surrounding Ngwu’s final movements, the discovery of his body and the injuries observed on him are expected to form part of the investigation.

Family members, friends and political associates are now seeking answers over his death, while security authorities are expected to establish what happened before, during and after he left his home.
